| It was at Girl's State that Rev. Wilson realized that she would have to move forward in obtaining the necessary training, in order, to actively engage in the real world of politics and make a significant difference. Therefore, she enrolled in the University of Fayetteville, upon graduation from college. While in college studying Agriculture, Rev. Wilson completed two internships at the nation's capital, Washington, DC. The completion of both internships with former Senator Dale Bumpers (Democrat of Arkansas) and former Senator Tim Hutchinson (Republican of Arkansas) empowered Rev. Wilson for service within her local community and on a broader scale. "The internships provided me with useful skills needed for bipartisanship, which is vital in Capital Hill, because it allows Democrats and Republicans to come together and resolve conflicts in order to move forward on other issues of importance," she says. |
